AMERICAN WILDLIFE ASSOCIATIONSouthwind Outdoors is the Arkansas Affiliate of a network of outdoor sportsman's clubs providing club members access to private hunting land in Arkansas, as well as other states, including Missouri, Kansas, and South Dakota, for waterfowl, deer, turkey, and upland bird hunting, fishing, camping and more!  From great hunting here at home to that out-of-state trip of a lifetime, Southwind and its affiliate clubs have something for everyone who enjoys the outdoors. In East Arkansas, club members have access to a variety of waterfowl properties, including Arkansas River frontage, flooded rice, milo, corn, and soybean fields, cypress sloughs, flooded timber, lakes and reservoirs, some of which are planted in Japanese millet to provide additional food supplies. Several of these properties are only a few miles from Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Areas, which helps keep more ducks in the area. Southwind has partnered with the Central Arkansas, Big Rock Chapter of Quail Forever,, in an effort to help re-establish huntable populations of quail in Arkansas.  Native grasses are being re-introduced, as well as other management techniques conducive to quail are being performed on select areas of club property Quality deer can be found on many of our Arkansas properties, most of which are in the Arkansas River Delta. These highly fertile and agricultural areas provide an ample food supply and compliment the Quality Buck Management Program we utilize on some of our more promising units. Minerals, cottonseed, winter wheat, and buck forage oats on our property inside the Arkansas River Levee have helped produce harvested bucks with inside rack spreads over 18 inches and weights up to 285 lbs. NORTHERN PRAIRIE OUTFITTERS- We specialize in making memories that will last a lifetime while hunting in "God's Country", also known as Alberta!  If you have never experienced an early fall hunt in the rich farmlands of Alberta, the crew at Northern Prairie Outfitters would like to show you why it is regarded as one of the premier waterfowl hunting destinations in the world.  Northern Prairie Outfitters offers 3 day packages that include 5 hunts (3 morning and 2 afternoon), lodging, meals, shells, license, and stamp.  We hunt the prairie and parkland region of Alberta, which is within driving distance of two major airports.  Alberta allows generous daily bag and possession limits for hunters who take advantage of it's famed fall flight. Specklebellies, canadas, snow geese, mallards and pintails are all common in our area and many times are all taken in the same hunt!  The pea, barley, and wheat fields of the region offer hunters a truly unique mixed bag limit, somthing this part of Alberta is known for. Our specklebelly geese hunting is second to none and our dry field duck hunting is equally as impressive.  Contact Travis Schneider at (979) 421-0490 or Johnny Miller at (719) 821-9563 to book your hunt today.  More information on Northern Prairie Outfitters, along with photos and videos from previous seasons, can be found on our website at

RETRIEVER LODGE - Retriever Lodge is a duck guiding operation that specializes in small groups. We hunt exclusively on private ground and offer some of the finest rice field and flooded-timber hunting known to this area. We provide the atmosphere of a "buddy hunt" rather than that of a commercial operation. This helps to guarantee an enjoyable hunt, and gives you a true experience of an Arkansas duck hunt. We use a variety of blinds depending on the hunting situation. All are comfortable, safe, and hand-crafted. We use sunken barrel blinds in field hunting. These blinds were designed by Arkansas County natives and are basically "mini pits" that allow you to watch the ducks work and shoot before they have flared. Our guides are young, enthusiastic and experienced. These guides hunt everyday regardless of clientele. They spend hours riding and checking their hunting areas every afternoon. This helps to insure the next morning's hunt will be a success. Retriever Lodge is a newly-constructed lodge, completed in 2006. Located on the banks of Mill Bayou, it is completely secluded and provides a very relaxing atmosphere. We can accommodate up to 16 guests per night, and everything is first class. You can enjoy a pool table, poker table, full bar, and big screen television. Most of our hunting areas are within minutes of the lodge. Hunt, meals, lodging and liquor $500.00.
